Helping our youth

Morality is not the same today as it was even fifty years ago. Through sources of media such as television and radio, young people have gotten different ideas of who they are supposed to be ... but is it really the best thing? Drug/ alcohol abuse is becoming more common every day. How can we educate our kids? How can we show them what they do to themselves when they light up that cigarette or down that beer? They need to know that someone cares enough about them to say, 'Hey, it's really not as cool as everyone says it is.'

Everyone needs a little help once in a while. Youth coalitions are forming across the nation to better educate our youth about the effects of drugs and alcohol abuse and other problem areas that have been developing over the years. Teens can relate more to people who are closer to their age. Because of this fact, the programs that are being initiated by these organizations have been quite successful. Therefore, I encourage all of you to get involved in your local coalitions or mentoring programs. You could help to improve someone's life... or save one.
